Pooch & Paws
Pooch & Paws Dog Grooming is a purpose built studio in a rural setting in Co. Laois, offering a loving and caring home from home environment for your dog. We are only a couple of minutes drive to the town of Abbeyleix and the villages of Ballinakill and Durrow and only 15klm from Portlaoise. Fully insured and I work on a one to one basis to ensure all my fur clients receive the VIP treatment they deserve. Bookings are by appoinment only.
About Me
For those who know me they will tell you my love for dogs has no boundaries, I have always loved and owned dogs from a very young age. I currently have four adored dogs, an Irish Water Spaniel, a Cocker Spaniel and two Springer Spaniels and down through the years I have always groomed my own dogs. Following a career in Hotel Management spanning 30 years in the UK and home here in Ireland I took the step in 2022 to move away from the industry and follow my lifelong dream to work with dogs.
During this time I completed the iPET Level 3 Award in Introduction to Dog Grooming. I then went on further to achieve the iPET Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and Salon Management studying and learning from Ireland's first International Certified Master Groomer, the very talented Cathy Bruen in Canine Creations in Dublin. I have also completed the Canine First Responder Certificate and I am a member of the IPDGA - Irish Professional Dog Groomers Association.
Pooch & Paws is a purpose built studio in a rural setting with all the required equipment to help make the experience for your dog stress free and comfortable. Bookings are by appointment only and I work on a one to one basis to ensure all my fur clients get the VIP treatment they deserve. When your dog is with me they are the only one in the studio so a quiet relaxed experience for them receiving my full attention. I firmly believe in a fear free, positive approach when grooming your "best friend" and I can ensure all dogs are treated as part of the family.

Full Groom & Style
Health check, nails trimmed & filed, ears cleaned, double shampoo, conditioner, facial, warm blow dry, de-shed/brush/comb, clipping and scissoring styling to your requirements.
For long/curly/double coat breeds.
Bath & Blow Dry
Health check, nails trimmed & filed, ears cleaned, double shampoo, conditioner, facial, warm blow dry, de-shed/brush/comb, hygiene trim (eyes, feet, bottom).
For short and smooth coats.
Puppy Introduction Package
Your puppy should be introduced to grooming from 12-14 weeks of age after they have received their second set of vaccinations. Waiting to groom until they are older could mean a stressful experience for them. We advise early introduction to offer a positive and enjoyable experience for your dog so as they grow they will see grooming as a normal happy part of their everyday life. I offer a puppy introduction package which includes three visits of different experiences to include a groom on the last visit. Contact me for more details.
